Often, children end up playing with the wrapping on their presents anyway, so why not make a special celebration sensory box? It might prove more popular than their toys.

What to do

  1. First make sure everything is safe for your child to touch, and ribbon is kept to a short length.
  2. Fill the box with as many different textures of wrapping paper and ribbon as you can find. Smooth, crinkly, bumpy – it’s all fascinating for your child. Maybe add some tinsel too, and tickle their nose.
